SO WHO IS SNEEZING BABY PANDA?
A few years ago Australian production company Wild Candy was filming in the Wolong Panda Breeding Centre in China’s Sichuan province. A female panda was munching a piece of bamboo bread, oblivious of the fact her six week old son was hungry too. Clearly frustrated as well as starving, the tiny panda cub suddenly let loose with his now infamous sneeze. The moment was recorded for posterity and Sneezing Baby Panda was born.

SO WHO FILMED THE ORIGINAL SNEEZING BABY PANDA CLIP?

Wild Candy is an independent production company specialising in wildlife TV and film projects. As well as filming sneezing pandas, producers Lesley Hammond and Jenny Walsh have driven across southern Africa dodging bull elephants in Chobe, filmed Siberian tigers near the Russian border and been manhandled by sunbears in Thailand. They’ve filmed dozens of wildlife specials in more than 20 countries and their programs have been screened on Animal Planet, National Geographic and Discovery Channels around the world.

Over the years, they’ve produced three programs about the giant panda and it was in one of these ‘Little Pandas – The New Breed’ that the Sneezing Baby Panda made his debut!
